it was strange to be back in nyc so suddenly even after missing an early morning flight on sunday to spend an unexpectedly gained day in singapore before finally catching Cathay from Changi to New York (via Hong Kong and Vancouver).
three-weeks inhaled - but i wasn't quite ready to let out just yet and it
took a little over a week to finally dig my niches and grounds of familiarity as i was slowly reeling inward from travel withdrawal. where are my iced mochas every morning?
my experiences with objectifs were kinetic day in and day out - from river valley, to victoria street, to north bridge road, or towards bugis to get over to liang seah, beach road - lunching on the most sumptuous, fresh and eclectic plates along sidewalks and street corners intersecting with walkers, hawkers and gawkers alike -
life was a flutter with work and a little chaos here and there, and that's how i like things to be. here, back on home turf i'm settling into my little air conditioned nation of four walls, one door, a computer and scanner by my side. brought back 15 rolls of film from the labs a few days ago and have been scanning and reorganizing my images with much anticipation and pleasure...and upon rediscovering the lost places and faces i've encountered,
in all their glorious peaks of anonymity and splendor, i found myself recalling all the important people who made singapore and my experience with objectifs all the more intimate, soulful and adventurous.
i miss you all dearly and look forward to coming back to you soooooon...my heart is with your endeavors, ambitions, and unflinching contribution to life and life's work - always.
